Three-wheeled vehicles are fairly common in central China. This diminutive, orange three-wheeler is powered by a 150 cc gas engine. These kinds of vehicles are popular with the old folks. What’s especially nice is that they don’t need to be registered or insured. Also, they can be driven in the bicycle lanes. Two can fit comfortably, but I’ve seen as many as three adults and three children in one of these little cars. That’s definitely testing the tipping point. Top speed is only around 30 mph. Personally, I think the little electric vehicles are a better choice, as they can be charged at home and have fewer moving parts.
