Denver’s Butterfly Pavilion is a great place to get close up with over 1,000 butterflies. The pavilion imports butterflies from all over the world. Opportunities for great photos abound, so bring your camera.
The butterflies are housed in a large, climate controlled room filled with tropical plants. Butterflies flit all around you, sometimes landing on you for a rest. You’ll encounter butterflies of all different sizes and colors. It’s warm and humid inside the butterfly habitat, so drink plenty of water before entering.
My trip to the Butterfly Pavilion yielded some of the best butterfly pictures to date. Fun stuff.
The Pavilion is also home to a spider hall and a marine life exhibit. In the spider hall I was able to let a tarantula sit in my hand. They’re lighter than I thought.
