I have never been a morning person, and I never will be. But you have to do what you have to do. Last fall my job teaching English had me frequently getting up before sunrise. So I sometimes opened the window in my living room and snapped pictures of the rising sun. Given the poor air quality here, I almost always see the sun through a haze of pollution. While terrible for one’s health, the air pollution actually makes for some nice sunrises. The haze softens the sun, mutes it to an orange smolder, diffuses its rays to a warm glow, while at the same time shrouding the scenery in what likes morning fog.
