Rising from the shore of the Hudson River, Mount Beacon provides views that will not disappoint. The most popular route up includes a short rock scramble. From the rocky nub of a summit, one can see the Newburgh-Beacon bridge, the Shawangunk ridge, the Catskills, and the north-south traverse of the Hudson.
Positioned at the pinnacle of Mount Beacon is a fire tower. You can’t actually get into the booth of the fire tower, but you can climb the stairs.
