Located 44 kilometers north of Valpo on the pacific coast, you’ll find the small beach community of Horcon. The town proper is quite small, consisting mostly of small eateries, a fish market, and craft vendors. The stretch of beach just north of the town is the real gem of Horcon.
The stones on the beach have been polished silky smooth by the waves. Gulls nest on the sheer cliffs that border the beach. At the end of a sandy stretch of shoreline, you’ll find a rock cave nestled in the cliff side. At the water’s edge, shorebirds with orange bills and white and black plumage scurry about in the wet sand. This is a place that provokes the imagination, invites contemplation, and guides one to the quiet places inside of us that get covered up by our insane lives.
